Outpatient Rehabilitation

Continued Recovery For Your Needs

St. Lawrence Health offers Outpatient (OP) Substance Use Disorder Services at Canton-Potsdam Hospital as well as Gouverneur Hospital to provide continuing care and structure for those who are reintegrating back into their communities but are still in need of addiction recovery treatment. Outpatient Programs and Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are person-centered recovery plans that are customized based on an individual's specific needs.

Individuals admitted to IOP have been deemed in need of intensive treatment beyond that of traditional non-intensive outpatient treatment. This is based on a substantial risk of the patient's relapse, as evidenced by failure to abstain from use in prior treatment settings, history, and/or a moderate to severe dependence condition.

The Goal of our Outpatient Programs?

Our goal is to assist those who are focused on returning to work, rebuilding their family, and forming healthy environments and relationships.

An Outpatient program ensures that everyone has the opportunity to create the life they want to live, but still provides a safe place and additional guidance in their recovery.

At this stage of treatment, patients have demonstrated/proven that they are committed to their treatment plans and are motivated to live a healthier, happier life - which is not defined by addiction.
