CPH received Level III Trauma Center Verification in 2018 and is currently the only center of its kind in St. Lawrence County. Level III Trauma Center Verification means we have met nationally recognized standards in providing care to the most critically injured patients, with monitoring of care, and processes in place to continuously improve care provided. With the closest Level I Trauma Center two hours away, CPH is fully-equipped to provide rapid and thorough trauma care to adults involved in physically traumatic situations, where substantial blood loss is possible.
Our team is specifically trained in trauma response for scenarios including severe car and motorcycle accidents, gunshot wounds, stab wounds, traumatic brain injury, burns, and falls. Emergency medicine physicians, as well as on-call surgeons and anesthetists, provide 24-hour coverage.
Ongoing education and maintaining cutting edge skill sets are mandatory for Level III Trauma Center Verification.
