Massena Hospital recently unveiled a new “Juicebar” EV Charger. The installation of the Electric Vehicle Charging Station was funded by New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) and Massena Electric Department (MED), and will be operated and maintained by Massena Hospital.

“This project represents a collaborative effort to meet green and sustainable community goals, including efforts to reduce the community’s carbon footprint,” noted MED Superintendent Andrew McMahon.

Massena Hospital President Dave Bender further stated, “This is a great addition to our campus in Massena, and will benefit our patients, visitors, and employees.”

‘A natural place’

Mr. McMahon explained that given the number of employees and the volume of clients in and out of the facility each day, this was a natural place for an Electric Vehicle charger under the DEC program.

“The number of EV’s on the road is growing rapidly. Having an EV charger a few years ago was an oddity. Now it is becoming an increasingly expected amenity for a location like the Hospital,” Mr. McMahon said.

“Our mission is to support the overall health of the community, and supporting vehicles with no carbon emissions is a logical fit for us,” Mr. Bender commented.
