 Gastroenterologist Dr. Karthikeyan Joins St. Lawrence Health System 

POTSDAM, NY – Board certified Gastroenterologist Suri Karthikeyan, MD, FRCP(C), MRCP(UK), has joined the medical staff of St. Lawrence Health System’s Canton-Potsdam Hospital. His office is located in the Leroy Outpatient Center on the Hospital’s main campus at 50 Leroy Street, Potsdam.

Dr. Karthikeyan is American Board of Internal Medicine Certified in Gastroenterology, and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in both Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine, and a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of United Kingdom in Internal Medicine.

Dr. Karthikeyan earned his medical degree from Madras Medical College, Chennai, India; was awarded a Fellowship in Gastroenterology, and completed his residency at McMaster University Medical Center, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. He obtained his internship through Madras Medical College-affiliated hospitals in Chennai, India.

Upon arriving at Canton-Potsdam Hospital, Dr. Karthikeyan brings experience in serving as the Chief of Gastroenterology, and teaching medical students and residents at the University of Rochester, and Unity Hospital of Rochester, Rochester, NY.

As a Gastroenterologist, Dr. Karthikeyan manages diseases of the gastrointestinal tract and liver, including the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, colon and rectum, pancreas, gallbladder, bile ducts, and liver. He performs colonoscopies, pill capsule and non-capsule endoscopies, polypectomies, and stent placements.
